Culver City DRAFT Bicycle and Pedestrian Network Plan Available for Review

January 21st, 2010 by Mike King

The DRAFT version of the pedestrian and bicycle facilities of the Culver City Bike and Ped Initiative is available for review and comment. Culver City will host a public workshop to gather community input and explain the next steps of the Initiative on Saturday, January 30, from 10am-1pm. The workshop will be held in the Garden room of Veteran’s Memorial Auditorium, 4117 Overland Avenue, Culver City. For more info click here.

One item to note is the status of the Expo Rail Bike Path. Since the Expo Rail/Bike Path is making its way through Culver City, and given one of the proposed stops in Phase 2 of the project is Westwood Blvd., this provides an opportunity to opine the importance of the bikeway connection. The proposed bikeways plan labels National Blvd. (where the Expo line runs) as a Bike Route. For anyone who hasn’t been following the Expo Bikeway Plan, the Plan is somewhat in limbo. I encourage anyone to email, discuss, etc.
